We all need a hero…let the Saints of Denver begin

Orlando Frederick knows what it is to be leveled by pain. Instead of focusing on his own, he’s made it his mission to help others: sports stars, wounded war vets, survivors of all kinds. But when Dom, a rugged, damaged, sinfully attractive cop, makes his way into Lando’s physical therapy practice, he might be the biggest challenge yet. Lando loved one stubborn man before and barely survived the fallout. He’s not sure he can do it again.

Dominic Voss is a protector. The police badge he wears is not only his job, it’s his identity, so when he’s sidelined because of an injury, the only thing he cares about is getting back on the force. He expects Lando to mend his body, he just doesn’t realize the trainer will also have him working toward a hell of a lot more. As attraction simmers and flares, Dom sees that Lando needs repair of his own…if only the man will let him close enough to mend what’s broken.

Thoughts:

I have not read the Marked Men series yet. I know SHOCKER!! I own most of the series and really want to jump in, there are just always so many books to decide between… when I got the opportunity for an arc of Built I thought that was the perfect solution! Start this new spinoff series from the beginning and then I can go back and get caught up as time allows… so I grabbed Leveled (plus its M/M! Yayyyy!) and started reading.

Lando and Dom are 2 men that have their careers figured out and know what they “want to be when they grow up” but they have no idea where they’re going in their personal lives. This story tells their journey and how Lando learns to forgive himself and to let love in again and how Dom compromises what he thought was his main objective in his career and finds something that can be just as fulfilling.

Not having read the Marked Men did not interfere with this book but those glimpses of the previous heroes and the ladies that tamed them made me more eager to find out their journey. And the glimpse at Sayer as she meets Lando at the gym makes me giddy to begin Built.

Everything I’ve read from Jay Crownover had been a hit and this book if no exception. I look forward to this Saints of Denver series and the new community of characters that we will get to meet!
