Thoughts: Surprisingly, this is the first book I have read in the Nauti series, but I was immediately pulled into the emotions of the characters. It was obvious from the beginning that I was missing a lot, and at times the various characters were confusing – but I was so sucked into the story that I just couldn’t put it down. Not even to go back and start from the beginning (though a did make a side note to read all the previous books!). That’s just how entrancing these characters were. Something about Angel just compelled me, and I had to know her story. Not to mention the whole family dynamics, and the relationship between Angel and her biological mother, Chaya. The book is filled with so much emotion that once started just has to be finished. And I loved it! This is one of the few books that has managed to bring me to tears.
If you’re looking for an emotion-filled, gut-wrenching book, then look no further. This one is simply perfect.
