Blurb:
I’m not who I led her to believe. I’m sin wrapped in silk. Betrayal masked by beauty.
And she’s not the only one with scars…
Rebel North, an all-new stunning and seductive standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author JB Salsbury is available now!
In a city where image is everything, Gabriella turns heads for all the wrong reasons.
The marks that slash across her neck and face turn people away. But I see the beauty that lies beneath, feel a kinship to her pain.
I regret the way she found me—mugged and left for dead. I should walk away, follow the rules, but I can’t. I want to see her again. There’s only one problem.
My brother convinced her I’m gay.
I use that lie to my advantage, persuade her to be my pretend girlfriend, to help protect my fake-sexual identity from my judgmental family. But what starts as a shameless excuse to be near her leads to crossed lines and midnight confessions.
I’m not who I led her to believe. I’m sin wrapped in silk. Betrayal masked by beauty.
And she’s not the only one with scars…

My Thoughts:
It’s no secret that JB Salsbury has quickly become one of my go-to authors. No matter what she writes, I just know I’ll love it, and Rebel North was no exception! It’s swoony, with a bit of angst and a plot twist I did not see coming.
Rebel North is the second book in The North Brothers Series, and just like book one it was a read I didn’t know I needed.
We first meet Kingston in Wild North, and I immediately wanted more of his story. He comes off as a carefree guy, but I knew it was an act covering his true feelings.
In Rebel North we get Kingston’s full story. He’s kind of the black sheep of the family (don’t get me started on their father), but I love that he is true to himself and pursues his passion despite his father’s awful attitude. Gabriella is the perfect match for Kingston. She is kind, endearing, and feisty when she needs to be.
These two have instant chemistry, but Gabriella assumes he is gay based off a comment his brother makes which leads to her offering to be his beard and wingwoman despite being attracted to him. As you can imagine, there’s lots of sexual tension and funny moments that happen along the way. Their story isn’t all fun and games though, like I said there’s an unexpected plot twist and both Kingston and Gabriella have a past that they must overcome. With every obstacle they heal and their love grows stronger, and its beautiful to see.
I loved everything about this book. It was the perfect balance of humor, angst, and steam. I loved watching Kingston and Gabriella fall in love, seeing Kingston begin to build meaningful relationships with his brothers, and I absolutely can not wait for Hayes’ book!
