Suzy Denton seems to have it all together. She loves her job as an event’s planner for Danvers International, and she loves her high school sweetheart and fiance Jeff. Fast forward a month and it’s all gone to hell in a hand-basket. She finds out Jeff’s dentist has been doing more than drilling his teeth, and Danvers is in the process of merging with Mericom creating the largest communications company in the US and also bringing Gray Merimon, the CEO of Mericom into her life.
Gray pursues her from almost their first meeting. Even though he looks like sex on a stick, Suzy is afraid of being hurt again, and she thinks Gray is just another stuffed shirt looking for a relationship. When he calls her bluff, Suzy agrees to one night of sex, hoping that he will be terrible in bed and she can finally get him out of her system.
When circumstances throw them together for more than one night, can Gray convince Suzy that two complete opposites can be a perfect fit?
After reading the first book in this series Weekends Required I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book. I have to admit I liked it better than Weekends Required.
The relationship between Gray and Suzy was very balanced and was moving along at a good clip and I was really liking it. There was humor and drama, a supporting cast in their siblings. And then it all went to hell.
When the major conflict happens it was something that I could understand happening, as the back story was presented in a way where you could go, ok yeah I get that. Where the author went wrong here was that we stopped getting the heroes POV.
Now this was my major complaint in the first book in this series, the lack of a balanced POV between the hero and heroine. It was something I was certain would be fixed and it was until this point of the book.
The conflict between these is an outside source and the only time we find out anything about it once it happens if when the hero talks to the heroine about. This is a huge opportunity to let us know more about what Gray was thinking during this time.
The lack of the author to make sure there is a balance of POV between them unfortunately makes this a book that has the potential to a great book, and a makes it an ok book.
The third book in the series comes out 2013 and if it’s who I think it is, I really hope the author corrects this oversight.
