The very first erotic romance book I ever read was a Maya Banks, and since then she has been my go to author for erotic romance. I have every book she has written in the genre. Some I have liked, some I have loved, but the one thing that has remained consistent is she ALWAYS puts out a story that keeps me glued to my kindle.

When I got my review copy of Rush I was excited to read it. I mean after all this is MAYA we’re talking about. Within a couple of pages I was sucked into the relationships of Gabe and Mia, Gabe, Jace and Ash, Mia and Jace and Mia, Jace and Ash. Yes the story is about Gabe and Mia, but Gabe is best friends with Mia’s older brother Jace, and Mia has a relationship with all three men to some extent. Jace is her brother and she loves Gabe and Jace’s other best friend Ash like a brother.

The relationship between Mia and Gabe was an interesting one to read. I honestly didn’t know how I was going to like them as a couple, especially as I am NOT a fan of huge age gaps in my couples. I know I know it’s not that big of a deal and I have two sisters who married men almost ten years older then them, but for me yeah it’s a thing. That being said I really liked how Mia and Gabe were as a couple.

Not only does Gabe want her as his woman, he also wants to hire her as his PA. Gabe genuinely respected Mia as not only a woman but also as someone who has the business knowledge to be his assistant. Mia on the other hand fully expected for her job to be in name only making her accessible Gabe sexually whenever he wanted her, which turns out to not be the case. Mia didn’t take any of Gabe’s crap, well outside of the bedroom.

And that brings me to the two things I HATED about the book. In fact I hated them so much I had to skip ahead. Something I have never done in a Maya book. There was a scene when they are in Paris where Gabe is a complete asshat and then the scene where Jace finds Gabe with his sister.

The scene in Paris ALMOST had me dnfíng the book, however I trusted that Maya had a reason for putting it there, and she does, and it’s a necessary part of the story for Gabe to get past some things. Also the scene where Jace discovers Mia and Gabe doing well I’ll let you read that part for yourself, is one that I felt was resolved in absolutely the best way, for everyone involved.

There are also some really fun scenes, one with Mia, Jace and Ash comes to mind and is one of my favorite scenes in the book.

Ok all that being said I really did like this book and I can’t wait to see what happens with Jace and Ash in their books. One thing is for sure Maya once again delivered on a fantastic book with compelling characters who kept me intrigued and glued to my computer for hours.
