Bride Quartet bk 3
Nora Roberts
This is one series that started strong and has had stayed strong throughout.
Wedding cake baker Laurel McBane appreciates a strong, intelligent man–a man just like Parker’s older brother, Delaney. But Del is out of her reach and too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her, or so she thinks. After a mind-blowing kiss, Laurel will have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever.
Laurel has been in love with her best friends brother for most of her life and has resigned herself to the place that he has put her in as his honorary little sister, that is however until she has a little to much to drink on night and lays one on him.
Del has had no clue that Laurel had those kinds of feelings for him (can we say clueless man here), and it takes some getting used to, however he is soon very much on board with changing their relationship.
In Jack and Emma’s book we got to see some meddling from the gang, however in this book they go one step better and actually make a bet on how long it will take them to get it on. Del and Laurel decided to win the bet, which means that they can date and make out but no nookie.
The romance between these two felt very natural, as if they had each just been waiting for the right moment. There are some moments between them that they have to work out like any relationship, and they do.
I loved the ending in this book, and how Del proposes to Laurel, it is very much about them, but also those that they have loved.
I give this book a 5 out of 5.
