Sunrise with a Notorious Lord by Alexandra Hawkins

Title: Sunrise with a Notorious Lord

Series: Lords of Vice bk 4

Author: Alexandra Hawkins

Genre: Historical Romance

FOREVER THE BACHELOR

Christopher Courtland, Earl of Vanewright—known around London as “Vane”—is the very picture of a rich, handsome ladies’ man. Why shackle himself to just one lady when he’s free to sample them all? In spite of his own mother’s attempts at matchmaking, Vane has sworn to stay single. Until he has a chance run-in with Miss Isabel Thorne…

NEVER IN LOVE—UNTIL NOW…

A modest and refined beauty, Isabel is a lot more brazen than she appears. When a pickpocket tries to make way with Vane’s bejeweled snuffbox, Isabel attempts to thwart his escape…and manages to steal Vane’s heart. But the harder he tries to seduce the sharp-tongued, strong-willed Isabel, the more she resists. Now it’s up to this tried-and-true bachelor to find a new way to play the game…or risk losing the one woman who’s ever captured his heart.

The sign of a good author is one whose first book makes you sit up and take notice and each book there after gets better and better. Alexandra Hawkins isn’t a good author she’s an excellent author, with each book she gets better and better. From the moment I began to read Sunrise with a Notorious Lord I couldn’t put it down.

Vane and Isabel are two very opinionated and hard headed characters and watching them battle was just plain fun especially when you add in the sexual tension between them.

From the moment Vane sees Isabel he wants her. He isn’t used to being denied and the fact that Isabel isn’t falling in with his plans pushes all of his buttons. Add in his match making mother and his father that calls him on the carpet and he’s really not a happy person.

Isabel is being pulled in so many ways. She wants to make a good match for her sister. However the person that is supposed to be the perfect match for her sister she wants herself. With the stress of keeping the reason she is in London from Vane, plus her sister, and her feelings for Vane  she isn’t sure whether she is coming or going.

When reading a Lords of Vice book you have remember Frost and all of his snark, and the mystery that revolves around Saint (his book is next). You also can’t forget the other Lords and their wives, as they all make this a very rich story that has it all. Love, passion, anger, betrayal and forgiveness.

This series is one of my favorite historical series and each installment gets better and better. If you like historical romances and you haven’t yet read this series you need to rectify it immediately.
