I’ve been a fan of Stephanie Laurens for years and have read every single book in her Cynster Family Saga – as that is what is has turned out to be – some I have loved and some I haven’t.

I loved this book.

The reason I loved it? Because Ryder Cavanaugh reminded of the Bar Cynster. Those first six heroes who were the ultimate Alpha Hero in Regency England. He knew what or rather who he wanted and went about making her think their union was all her idea.

Mary Cynster is no simpering miss. Now that her sister is engaged she’s on a mission to have find her own hero. And she has very definite ideas about who her hero should be and why. Ryder Cavanough is NOT on her list.

I went into this book with very low expectations as I didn’t like the last book, and in the trilogy that came before I only liked 2 of them. So I was surprised when I read the book cover to cover in one setting.

Like all of Laurens books there’s a mystery, someone out to kill either the hero or the heroine. Unlike in some of the books we know who is out to hurt them almost from the onset, and the reasons behind it in this story. It’s a plot that I hadn’t seen Laurens use yet, at least not that I remember, and she does it in a way that is completely believable.

One of my favorite scenes in the book is the epilogue. We get to see the entire Cynster clan together and find out where they all are in their lives. I can’t wait to see what happens with the next generation of the Cynsters.

I was really glad for this book as Laurens is an auto-buy for me and I didn’t want to take her off that list.

If you’re a fan of the Cynsters, and want a hero who reminds you Devil and the other members of the Bar Cynster then you won’t want to miss this book.
