Title: Then came you
Series: Animal Magnetism #5
Author: Jill Shalvis
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Blurb:
Veterinary intern Emily can’t believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of the Los Angeles clinic she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship.
Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himself as her new boss. And Emily is just as drawn to his seductive looks and quiet strength as she was on that very steamy night. She soon learns that Wyatt isn’t just a laid-back doctor, but a delicious alpha male tempting her away from her carefully laid-out plans.
I love Jill Shalvis, she writes such interesting and exciting stories that has me enthralled from the first page. I have to say I was a bit bummed (like totally pissed) when I no longer received invites to review her Lucky Harbor series, but no worries (yes worries) I’m okay with that. “Then came you” is part of the Animal Magnetism Series, and it’s the fifth book in the series. I found the perfect man, by my standards anyway, in this book and I wanted to hit Emily when she didn’t understand that.
Emily Stevens is a woman with a plan, which includes doing her internship at the Los Angeles clinic liked she planned, and not at a small animal clinic in Sunshine, Idaho. Saying to herself that this is a side road from her plan, she sets into her calendar the amount of days she has until she has obligated her vet school scholarship and get back to her “real life”.
On her first day, she realized that it was not going to be as easy as she thought. On her very first day she was immediately put to work where she came face to face with her first and only one night stand, Wyatt Stone, who as you guessed it, is not on the list and also her boss.
Wyatt Stone is the hot doctor (vet) in town and everybody wants a piece of him, and by everybody I mean the women, both young and the cougars. Wyatt has his own demons to fight and having the sexy little woman he had past “relations” with is not helping matters. Especially when she tells him that she has no space for him in her plans. (Isn’t she a b****)
When Emily tells Wyatt that it’s best to act like they never met and what happened in the past will not be repeated again, they go about doing just that. But the heat that these two create for each other is just to hot to ignore and will have them tearing each other’s clothes off, more her that him.
With time ticking down until her internship is over, would Emily forget about her list and live her life for herself, or would she throw it all away for what she thinks would make her happy?
Never having a say in what he wanted to do as a child, Wyatt promised himself that he would never tell anyone what to do so they can make a decision by themselves, would Wyatt overcome that and ask Emily to stay, or would her stay quiet and let her go?
Jill Shalvis is passionate, awesome and very creative when it comes to writing her books. I’m always wanting more and can’t seem to get enough. I especially love the parts of when they were in the car, the office, the…………I can’t say anymore, you have to buy the book and read them for yourself.
Thoughts: The passion was awesome
