Title: There You Stand
Series: Between Breaths bk 5
Author: Christina Lee
Genre: New Adult/MM
Tattoo artist Cory Easton has worked long enough at Raw Ink to know, just by looking at a dude, what his body art reveals, what makes him tick, what even makes him scared. Until he meets the quiet and remote Jude York—so unreadable, so unreachable, and so unlike anyone else, he can’t help but arouse Cory’s curiosity.
As captivating and complex as his ink, Jude is a mystery—and Cory’s falling fast and hard under his spell. Against his better judgment to steer clear.
The rumors of Jude’s past overshadow him—whispers of prison and an unmentionable secret that’s kept him in the protective shadows of a local motorcycle club. As Cory probes deeper, he wonders how much he really wants to know. Especially since Jude has awakened something inside him that has been buried too long—and has him feeling completely alive for the first time in forever.
Thoughts: I’m a huge fan of Lee’s and love this series so much so when there was a new story coming out I knew I would be reading it and loving it. Once again Lee didn’t disappoint in delivering a story that sucks you in and leaves you wanting more of the story after the last page.
It took me a few chapters to remember who Cory was, as until now he’s been a secondary character who’s only been mentioned a few times. Which I have to say was a good thing because it meant I didn’t have any kind of preconceived notions about him.
Jude is new to the series and what an addition he is. There are secrets surrounding him and yet he can’t stay away from Cory and vice versa. Once these two decided the risk was worth it the chemistry got even better between them got even hotter if that was possible.
As they both start to let down their guard and reveal their secrets to each other you hope and pray that these get their HEA without any more damage to their pyschy. Because this is romance you know they will be getting their HEA, but because of what they’ve already gone through you want it to be an easy road.
By the time Jude and Cory got their HEA I’d been put through the emotional ringer, and was so in love with both of them I wanted to pull them from the book and into my living room.
If you love lots of angst and sexual tension with 2 hot and damaged boys then you won’t want to miss this book.
