Turns out Chase Pierson is already a VIP guest who happens to be working with Valerie’s boss on a top-secret mission for the Reliance Group—one for which she too has been recruited. But Valerie, bold and gorgeous as she is, is first and foremost a professional. No fraternizing with Onyx clientele is her motto…and this hard-bodied, infuriatingly charming client is no exception. Even if Chase knows that the harder the hunt, the hotter the surrender.

I have been a fan of Janelle’s for years and loved her Wilde series so much I didn’t think that she would be able to top it. Man was I wrong. While I have enjoyed the first two books in this series I have absolutely loved this book.

From the moment that Chase and Valerie meet there is an instantaneous  connection/spark while Chase accepts it Valerie doesn’t which makes makes for some interesting sparks.

Both Chase and Valerie have been burned in the past and are leary about trusting someone. But they also can’t deny the intense feelings they have for each other, well at least Chase can’t.

As they go from Vegas, to San Fransisco, to Boca Raton, back to Vegas and then to Chicago while tracking a prize possession of Al Capone’s and trying to avoid Chase’s crazy ex-girlfriend. They both realize that they can’t throw away what they have with each other.

Chase is one of those heroes that you want as soon as they show up on the page and the more that you get to know him the more you want him. As Chase reveals his past to Valerie I wanted to reach in and comfort him, but that darn Valerie beat me to it.

Valerie reminds me of so many women I know here in Vegas. Women who have had something bad happen to them and come here to start a new life and create their own family. She’s got a hard shell but beneath that shes is someone that has a hard time letting someone in but once she does she loves them with everything in her.

If you like complex characters, treasure hunting and sexual tension that can set the pages on fir you won’t want to miss this book.

On a side note the treasure that Chase and Valerie is looking for is a part of mob history because Chase’s client wants to open a mob museum in Vegas. Recently the former Mayor of Vegas a former Mob lawyer in conjunction with the City of Las Vegas has opened a mob museum in downtown Las Vegas.
