Thoughts: The signs are all pointing to the fact that Hawk is going to meet his mate, but he wasn’t expecting a sexy female who’s more skittish than the horses he works with! He has to rely on his patience to woo her into his arms, and his determination in order to win her heart. After leaving her marriage of twelve years, Jo knew she would meet someone else eventually. She just wasn’t expecting to meet someone who hit all the right buttons – especially not so soon! Or someone as sexy and persistent as Hawk!
The sparks flying between Hawk and Jo were electric, and the story was quick to spark your interest. Hawk is everything you could ask for out of a main male lead – sexy, tempting, confident, thoughtful, and determined to win his woman! He totally made the story for me! But Jo was a wonderful heroine, as well. Scared of what she feels for Hawk, and scared that she is simply not “enough” to keep a man satisfied, she is afraid of getting involved – especially with someone as sexy as Hawk. She’s vulnerable, yet heart wrenchingly strong, all at the same time. You couldn’t ask for two better characters! Add to that “Pops”, Hawk’s father, who is just a sweetheart and you have a heck of a story!
I couldn’t put this book down. The characters drew you in at the beginning, but the storyline seemed your usual romance genre – at first. By the end, the storyline captivates you as well – and you’re almost in tears as everything unfolds. A wonderful story, with wonderful characters – with sparks flying between two halves of a perfect whole. Excellent book.
