Waiting to Fall by Alyson Reynolds

Title:  Waiting To Fall

Series:  The Waiting Duet Book 2

Author:  Alyson Reynolds

Genre:  Romance

Blurb:   Finn Crawford never thought his life would change with one stupid dare. Or that he would make the mistake of taking things too far with his twin sister’s best friend. Now he’s fighting off an attraction he didn’t expect.

Cora Donovan doesn’t want a relationship, especially one with the guy who’s always been there for her when she needed it most. Just being in the same room as him makes her body heat up in ways she never thought possible.

There’s only one other thing that might stand in their way of being together if they can actually figure out how to make it work. Neither of them want to hurt Olivia, and if they broke up, that’s exactly what would happen. Sometimes it’s hard to determine if love is worth the risk.

Thoughts:  I was a little disappointed, but it was partially my own fault!  I had read that the book could be read as a standalone, so I started Waiting To Fall without reading the first book.  I even remember hesitating before I signed up for it, debating whether to get the and read book one first.  Which I should have done!  That was a mistake on my part, as I think it really needed to be read prior to starting this one.  It jumped right into where I believe book one presumably left off, and I just started out confused and off-kilter.  The book is also told in first person, which is not one of my favorite views – I do stumble on ones told in this view that I enjoy, but not often.  Reading more of it just seemed to increase my frustration, so I don’t feel it’s really fair to the author to grade it in this case.  Later on I may pick up book one and give it another whirl, and I’ll withhold my opinion until then….:)
