When I was looking for something for today, I thought here in the US Monday is Presidents Day, where we celebrate the birthday’s of George Washington our first president and Abraham Lincoln the one that held together the US and re-united it after the Civil War, so why not post something that they said. I found this quote from Abraham Lincoln, and thought that it was very apropos for what is happening in Egypt, what the people of Egypt were able to accomplish, following in the footsteps of other democratic nations around the world.
Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable – a most sacred right – a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world.
Abraham Lincoln
Wow! Terrific quote! Where do you find such quotes like that? Anyway, it is perfect, you are right. We are praying for those of Egypt. What an amazing thing they have done. Many generations from now, people will read about it and watch the footage. And be amazed!
