Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston

bite meTitle: Bite Me

Series: Pride bk 9

Author: Shelly Laurenston

Genre: Paranormal

Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise. That’s where Vic Barinov comes in—or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge. Thoughts: If you’ve never read one of Shelly’s books then you are missing out on one of the best shifter stories being written. These books are laugh out loud funny and sarcastic. We met both Livy and Vic in Wolf with Benefits and they brought such a unique dynamic to the series as they were nothing like any of the other characters. Neither one of them were into sports, or all of the other drama that most of the shifters thrive on.

Thoughts: If you’ve never read a Pride book before you should correct this immediately. These books are full of snark, snark, and a little more snark, as well a hybrid shifters, a scary wolf shifter (Dee Ann) and lots of crazy characters.

I really have only a couple of words to say about this book. Are you ready for them? I mean really ready for them.

THIS BOOK IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

Ok pause for a second while I go and hide my literature degree so my professors don’t come and take it away from with with that kind of review 🙂

I’m serious though, this book is probably one of my favorites in the series so far. Livy and Vic have to be two of the most mismatched and yet perfect for each other couples in this series. Unlike the rest of the books where they meet and then the adventure ensues, Vic and Livy already know each other, and unbeknownst to them have already started that slide into a weird type of courtship with each other.

The story around these two finally getting together is that while Livy is helping Vic out on a job she discovers something that rocks her world, and sets in motion something that no one in the shifter world wants, well almost no one.

This also types up a story line that has been in the back ground for a couple of books and does it in a way that is perfect for these characters.

There are some really great scenes in this book, but one of my favorites is when Livy has to go into hiding and Bo offers the use of one of his houses and the craziness that ensues. Then there’s the combined bachelor/bachelorette party at the house. And because Blayne is involved you know it’s off the charts crazy.

If you love this series as much as I do you won’t want to miss this one. And if you’ve never read this series well then shame on you and correct this oversight immediately.
