This is my first Katie Reus book and based on this one I will be going back for more. I was completely captivated by the world that she has created.
It took me a while to get into the book, but that was no fault of the authors, it was because I was getting sick and distracted. Once I was able to finally sit down and read the book I finished it in one reading.
This is one of those books where I have to say I would have liked it better if it was in first person and from Connor’s point of view. I know I know it’s not something you expected to hear but it’s true. For me this book was all about Connor and his men. I wanted more of them and a little less of Ana and all her drama.
She was supposed to be the Alpha but acted more like a willful child. She knew that her pack was vulnerable and needed a strong Alpha but she resented Connor because of something that had happened more than 50 years ago when she was still really young. Her bad attitude doesn’t help matters when it comes to the dynamic of the pack.
The secondary characters are really great in this book as well. There is Liam and Ryan two of Connor’s pack mates, Liam is Connor’s second in command and brother. He’s story begins in this book and will be book 2.
If you are looking for a new paranormal series then you should definitely give this series a try.
