Series:  Shifters Unbound Book #6.5 (novella)

Author:  Jennifer Ashley

Genre:  Romance/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Paranormal

Blurb:   As the military liaison between the human Shifter Bureau and Shiftertown, Walker is often stuck trying to appease both sides—and angering both. So when bear-Shifter Rebecca is captured taking a run in a restricted area, Walker has to talk fast to get her released. The compromise: if Rebecca helps him find a missing woman—thought to have been abducted by a Shifter—she won’t be charged and executed.

Mate-less Rebecca is not happy to be under Walker’s supervision. As a bear used to roaming for miles, she hates being confined and restricted, she distrusts anything involving humans, and—worst of all—the strong and handsome Walker starts triggering her mating need.
They have no choice but to work together, and as they continue their search for the missing girl, uncovering secrets neither Shifters nor humans want them to know, both Walker and Rebecca find it hard not to mix business with pleasure…

ThoughtsBear Attraction features the long awaited story of Rebecca, the bear shifter that has been a continuing character in Ashley’s Shifter’s Unbound series, and one that I know I have been waiting to see get her own story. For some reason, the characters I most want to get their own book always seem to wind up in a novella…LOL….which of course tells you that this story is much shorter than usual. The anticipation didn’t quite live up to the hype with this one, since the balance of character likeability suffered a little in this book – at least for me. Walker was such a strong character – I mean, he had to be to go toe to toe with shifters. The character of Rebecca, on the other hand, suffered a bit in comparison – she would up coming across as selfish, thoughtless, and almost childishly rebellious – particularly in the first half of the book. I found her a bit annoying at the beginning to be honest.

Regardless – I am a fan of this series, and I have been from the very first book. That’s not going to change now, particularly over something so small. I love this world, and these characters and this book was still a great addition. Getting to know Walker so much better was reason alone to pick this one up! Not to mention the series of events at the end that may prove pertinent to future events…..we shall see…..
