Title: Coming Back
Series: Ink and Chrome bk 3
Author: Lauren Dane
Genre: Erotic, Contemporary
Mick Roberts, the newest partner at Twisted Steel’s custom hotrod and motorcycle shop, looks like a man with everything. But secretly he still craves the connection he lost when his best friend Adam and the love of his life Jessilynn walked out. Then, he wasn’t ready for the pleasure they promised. Now, things have changed.
Rich, powerful, and insatiable, Adam Gulati is used to getting what he wants. And there’s nothing he wants more than Mick and Jessi. He hasn’t seen either in over a year, but the second he sets eyes on them again his memories—and his desires—can’t be denied.
After trying to live without them, Jessi Franklin realized no one else can satisfy her like Adam and Mick. The three of them need one another—in more ways than one. It’s time to stop pretending and submit to the hunger they all share. But once they go down this road, there’s no turning back. As deeply devoted as they are, no one knows what great bliss their forbidden fantasy will find—or the price they may pay . . .
Thoughts:
When it comes to erotic romance none do it better than Dane. From the first page to the last she keeps the reader engaged and needing to turn the page to see what happens next.
Over the course of the 1st two books in this series we’ve gotten to see Mick go from being an employee in his friends (okay more than friends more like brothers) shop Twisted Steele to a partner.
What had me salivating waiting for this book was how Dane wouldn’t give us much information about Mick and his back story.
It was so worth it though, because Mick has got to be one of her best heroes. He’s perfectly flawed. He’s worked on, and continues to work on what happened to him in the Army, and also what his family has done to him. He’s finally at peace with who he is, and what he wants and while he knows he needs to deal with his family and his past, his number one priority is Jessi and Adam and getting them all back on track.
Jessi, what a great heroine she is. She isn’t afraid to call Mick and Adam on their crap, both what happened in the past, and what they have now. She knows her value and isn’t afraid to make Mick and Adam work for their relationship.
Adam…now he’s a great hero. Of the three of them, I think he’s the one who did the most growing in the years they were apart. He went on a mission of self-discovery and has some things up his sleeve that make make Mick and Jessi more than a little excited and nervous.
I loved this book for so many reasons, but the main one was that for each of them it was always going to be the others for them. None of them ever imagined a future where they weren’t together. They might have slept with other people in the time they were apart, but they never loved anyone but each other.
While they had a past to resolve and future to figure out, Mick, Jessi and Adam’s story is more of an okay this is where we are now, lets deal with what happened to send us all fleeing, and how do we make sure it doesn’t happen again. This is the heart of Coming Back…
and it’s beautiful.
Even when there are people who want to tear them down and destroy what they’re building, they cling to one another, where before they would have splintered and come out stronger for it in the end.
Fans of Dane’s will devour this story and want more of these characters…I know I do.
