Series: Order of the Dragon Knights Book 2

Author: Mary Morgan

Genre: Romance/Time Travel

Blurb: To right a wrong, two souls are brought together only to shatter when they are torn apart by the deeds of an evil druid.

Dragon Knight, Stephen MacKay’s powers are altered after the death of his sister. Now he is plagued with visions that threaten to destroy his soul. When Aileen Kerrigan falls through a time tunnel, he vows to keep her safe, despite the fact the beautiful but head-strong half-blooded fae could be the death of him.

When Aileen finds out her dad is a Fenian Warrior, she flees to a nearby ruin. Armed with the medallion her mother gave her, and a matching one belonging to a long dead knight, she is flung into the past and finds a handsome but surly warrior who is on a quest. Now it seems her future could be entwined with his, if she doesn’t kill him first.

Thoughts: I fell in love with the Dragon Knight series with book one which was the story of eldest brother Duncan McKay so I was anxiously awaiting the release of the next brother’s story. I was excited to learn that book two would be Stephen McKay’s story.

We learn about Stephen McKay through the telling of Aidan Kerrigan, an old Fenian Warrior, and pieces of what lies ahead for Aileen Kerrigan based on writings in an ancient journal of Stephen’s. Aileen learns that her father gave up his immortality and his standing as a well renowned Fenian Warrior for a life with his soulmate who was human with fae heritage.

Aileen’s mother had visions and had one that showed Aileen’s death in Scotland so they kept her heritage from her. It wasn’t until after her mother’s death a year earlier and the request of her father that she and her group of friends visit him in Scotland to view the relics that he’d found. During one of her walks she finds a stone medallion which she realizes matches the stone pendant that her mother had given her. That also belongs to Stephen McKay.

As the story progresses Aileen learns of her heritage becoming angry with her father and eventually hears him talking with Liam, who is also a Fenian Warrior, about the veil and becomes frightened which causes her to run from them at which time she finds herself falling into a time portal. She wakes to find herself in the thirteenth century.

She finds herself in the same tunnel with none other than Stephen McKay. They but heads from the beginning. They feel the pull there is between the two of them. There are many trials and tribulations that they must overcome to find what they are looking for.

Can they right a wrong? Can Stephen MacKay find love? Can Aileen heal his soul? You’ll cry, you’ll cheer, you’ll scream but you’ll have your answers by the time you turn the last page.

I love a tortured soul story. Nothing like the love a good woman.
