Falling for the Wrong Brother by Michelle Major

Title: Falling for the Wrong Brother

Series: Maggie and Griffin Trilogy Book #1

Stand Alone Title: no
Author:  Michelle Major

Genre:  Romance

Blurb: Minutes from marrying…the wrong groom!
Runaway bride Mayor Maggie Spencer doesn’t anticipate the fallout from fleeing her wedding. But both the town’s rival families are in turmoil, and her reputation is in question. And riding to her rescue is her ex’s brother! Once, bad boy Griffin Stone ran from challenges, but now, though the timing and the town are against them, he’ll have to fight—for Maggie and their forbidden love.

Favorite quote(s)/excerpt(s): “I picked up a container of nightcrawlers.”  She climbed out and gave him an exaggerated wink over the hood when he got out, too.  “How’s that for down and dirty?”

“It’s about the sexiest fishing talk I’ve ever heard.”

Thoughts: I have to say, I was steaming mad by the time I finished this book.  Not the author’s fault completely – I just happened to randomly pick a book one day from my long, long list of TBR books.  So, going into this I didn’t even consider it might be a trilogy.  It is mentioned at the beginning that it is the first part of their love story – still not a big deal, I like trilogies in general so I would have read it anyway.  What I did have issue with?  The frigging ending.

I’m sorry, there needs to be some type of conclusion to a book.  Period.  I don’t like when I think a book is reaching a conclusion – only to find that it abruptly ends!  It’s like somebody kicking me out of the car, into the rain, only to have a truck rush by and drench me with even more water!  I understand the story continues, however I need something more to the end to finish this one before continuing on with the next.

I’m also going to be frank – did I like Maggie and Griffin?  Yes.  At least enough to read the rest of the book.  At times it was very slow and felt like it dragged to me.  Do I like them enough to continue on to book two?  No, I’m sorry, I can’t see myself moving on to two more books with a story that easily could have finished with book one.  The story just doesn’t require three books (in my opinion).  Sorry, I’m just not feeling it.

This one just wasn’t for me.
