I love second chance romances, and RC Boldt gave a refreshing take on the trope. Emma Jane and Knox have been in love since high school and were ready to be married, but on the big day Emma Jane left town. She becomes the runaway bride crying in a bar. Fast forward eight years later and Emma Jane and Knox’s paths cross again. He’s the man Emma Jane has always loved and she’s the girl he can’t get over.
This book is a great mix of their past and them slowly finding their way to back each other in the present. The snippets of their past show how crazy in love they were, and had me wracking my brain wondering what could have happened to make Emma Jane leave. It’s obvious that they are meant to be, even though their reconciliation was slow to come. The reason Emma Jane left isn’t revealed until later in the story, and the mystery kept me frantically reading and hoping she would tell Knox soon. I loved every moment of this book. It’s a sweet and sassy romance between two characters that are perfect for each other; they just needed to find their way, and their friends add the perfect amount of comic relief. I hope Becket gets his own HEA! Side note: I LOVED Hendy and Presley’s cameo!
