Unexpected Desire…

It’s been ten years since clean-cut, sexy-as-hell police officer Todd Keenan had a white-hot fling with Erin Brown, the provocative, wild rocker chick next door. Their power exchange in the bedroom got under his skin. But love wasn’t in the cards just yet…

Now, life has thrown the pair back together. But picking up where they left off is tough, in light of a painful event from Erin’s past. As Todd struggles to earn her trust, their relationship takes an unexpected and exciting turn when Todd’s best friend, Ben, ends up in their bed—and all three are quite satisfied in this relationship without a name. As the passion they share transforms Erin, will it be enough to help her face the evil she thought she had left behind?

For the last year I have been told repeatedly I NEED to read this book. I finally got the book last week and carried it around with me everywhere I went so I could it.

I LOVED this book. There is so much emotion in it. Heartache, denial, forgiveness, acceptance, and love. It hit all the spots for me as far a what a perfect romance story has to have. Great characters, a compelling story, emotions you can feel, and scorching hot scenes.

When Todd and Erin first get together they are in their early twenties and while Erin is completely comfortable with who she is and what she wants Todd isn’t. He doesn’t like the emotions and things that Erin make him want so he breaks it off and leaves.

What I loved about Todd is that when he comes back to Seattle he has faced those fears he had ten years ago, he makes no excuses for what he did or why, and he is able to recognize that he loved Erin then and he loves her now and will do whatever he needs to do to have her in his life permanently.

Erin made my heartbreak. I couldn’t imagine going through what she did in the years that her and Todd were separated and surviving it. She is very fragile, and just starting to come back when Todd walks back into her life. That connection she had with him all those years ago was still there only better.

When Ben came into the relationship I was surprised when I shouldn’t have been because of the blurb on the book. I was however surprised by how the relationship turned out, especially between Todd and Ben. I did feel for Ben however because he couldn’t say anything about his relationship with Todd and Erin.

One of my favorite parts of the book was when both Erin and Todd separately talked with Ben about their feelings towards him in their relationship.

This is one of those books where once you finish the book you immediately want to pick up the next one to find out what is going to happen to the people closest to Todd, Erin and Ben namely Erin’s brothers Brody and Adrian, and Ben’s brother Cope but also if the rift in Todd and Ben’s families ever gets fixed.

If you have never read a Lauren Dane book then this is a perfect place to start. She has certainly become an auto-buy author for me.

I really loved the whole series. “Laid bare” was particularly touching because of Erin’s story. What I preferred in these books was the characters. They are so wonderful you can’t not like them.
I really advise you to read the other three books!
