My One and Only

My One and Only
By Kristan Higgins
Release date 3/29/11

Just when she thought she had life and love all figured out, divorce attorney Harper James can’t catch a break. Bad enough that she runs into her ex-hubby, Nick, at her sister’s destination wedding, but now, by a cruel twist of fate, she’s being forced to make a cross-country road trip with him. And her boyfriend back home is not likely to be sympathetic.

OK, so I am a HUGE Kristan Higgins fan and will pick up one of her books without even knowing what it is about and always am so glad I did.  She has a way of writing that just draws the reader in to the book, completely taking you somewhere else even to the point that you would swear you are right there.

My One and Only is no exception to this.  Harper could become one of your best friends, even though she is a little “stunted”.  Nick is just a fabulous guy with plenty of his own issues.  Neither one of them really wanting to see their own faults but can sure see the other ones, isn’t that just how life is.

I LOVE it when a book hits all the emotions, plenty of humor and maybe even a few tears.  You just can’t help it as their story unfolds and you learn how they became the way they were.  Reading their journey to find themselves and each other again is well worth taking a few hours for yourself, you will want to run out and get this one.

Oh, and there were some wonderful expletives in this book, I have to know if people really use these, you will know what I mean.

Grade A
