Prince Charming is my second to last book that I own of Julie Garwood. Some how I lost my copy of Gentle Warrior and I am not happy about that, not at all and when I went into the bookstore to buy a new one, they did not have a copy. Can you believe that, but, I did get the book Ransom and that is going to be the next and last book I read of Julie Garwood, for now.
Taylor Stapleton will do anything for the greater good, even if that means that she has to marry a complete stranger to do so. Taylor then has to sneak away at midnight not to raise any suspicions to get away from the evil that living in her home.
Lucas Ross, wanting to save his brother agreed to wed Taylor in exchange for money to help his brother. Lucas never wanted to get married but extreme circumstances has made him do it.
That’s not all he had to do, he had to take her to Boston in America safely; thinking that they would go their separate ways after reaching Boston, the greater good was taken away and Lucas vowed to help Taylor retrieve it.
Their marriage was suppose to be in name only until they get it annulled, but having to spent so much time together is making that decision difficult to uphold. Seeing as Lucas would love nothing more than to consummate their marriage and so would Taylor, even knowing that would complicate things more than they already are.
The greater good was saved and Lucas wants to track down a man and bring him to justice and return home to his mountains. Taylor has always admired mountain men and have read books about them while growing up and knows where she had to go to keep the greater good save. Redemption, the place where Lucas was going back to, the place where she can live and still be close to him.
But the evil that Taylor left in England did not stay in England and came to collect the greater good, even at the expense of her and Lucas’s life.
When you normally think of Prince Charming you usually think about a man with blue eyes and blond hair. He rides a beautiful white horse that comes to a maiden rescue when she is in trouble. Like Charming on Shrek.
Seeing as how the book was written the title should have been “My Mountain Prince” but Julie Garwood put a spin on Prince Charming and makes you realize that your Prince Charming can come in all shapes and sizes. Especially with a Prince charming like Lucas Ross, you’ll never want to go back to thinking about Prince Charmer the same again.
Thoughts: The title was really appropriate and was kind of misleading but the book was great
