Series: Risky Business Book #3
Author: Jennifer Bonds
Genre: Romance
Blurb: Firefighter Jackson Hart is back in Brooklyn and on the hunt for the girl who’s kept him burning for ten long years. The girl he left, in a total prick move, without saying goodbye. Now he’s determined to make it right, to hell with her three-date rule.
But Becca’s not ready to forgive and forget. In fact, she seems determined to stoke his fire every chance she gets. She wants to avoid sexy distractions like him? Fine. Because what she doesn’t know—yet—is that Jax isn’t the kind of man to give up when he wants something. And he always gets what he wants.
Thoughts: You gotta love a romance with a fireman…you just have to! I think it’s a given. With that being said, the story wasn’t bad either…;)
Basically, Jackson and Becca both have a thing for each other, and have for a long time. The problem came about when they were teens and Jackson stood Becca up for a date – and traumatized her young, vulnerable, teen-girl self. As soon as Jackson came back to the town he grew up in, he knew he was tracking down Becca, making amends, and hopefully picking things up where they left off. However, getting back in Becca’s good graces tends to be a little more than he bargained for!
Let’s keep in mind that the ‘standing up’ was when they were kids, and Jackson actually has a reason for that, and as a teen he did what he could to move on and develop a new life (mature). Becca, however, tries to get her own back and… well, kind of goes a little overboard (immature). Becca was a bit hard to take at first….though she does get a bit better as the book goes on. The characters really have some chemistry and eventually their romance hits some even ground and as a reader you begin to see the possibilities with this couple.
Romantic, steamy, and enough surprises to give you a few laughs…not to mention firemen! Definitely worth picking up for that alone!
