It’s not long before their sizzling attraction leads to smoking-hot kisses. But as the days get shorter, Anna must decide if she’s found a new road to happiness, or just taken a detour.

If you saw my Snippet Sunday a couple of weeks ago you know I loved this book. One of the reasons I love Shannon’s stories is because her heroes and heroines are full of a lot of snark and sexual tension. Cam and Anna are no exception to this.

Cam and Anna have known each since they were kids, and Anna annoyed him even then. However because of recent economic circumstances Anna has moved into the cabin next door to Cam on the lake where he lives full time. Cam just knows that she is going to annoy him just as much as she did when they were kids, what he doesn’t count on is his attraction to her. She represents everything he left behind when he moved to the lake permanently, but he can’t get her out of her mind.

Anna can’t believe that she’s living on the lake she hasn’t visited since she was a kid and living next door to Cam. She’s come there to figure out her life and look for a new job without depleting her savings. As she discovers herself and learns to relax she gets to know Cam, which drives her crazy  as he soooo isn’t what she wants.

Cam and Anna are seriously one of the funnest couples I’ve read. Her with her lists that drive him crazy and him with laid back attitude which she can’t understand, oh and a great sexual chemistry that baffles them both.

This is one of my favorite parts of the book…

Cam slid his hands under Anna and she arched her back so he could undo the clasp of her bra, and the breath he sucked in as he slid the lace away from her breasts sent heat curling through her body. He ran his thumb over one nipple, then traced its path with his tongue. Goosebumps tingled her skin and she raised her hips, hoping he’d get the hint. But he took his sweet time, lavishing attention on one nipple, then moving to the other. The moist heat of his mouth felt good, but she was beyond ready for the harder and faster part.

“If you keep that up, I’m going to get bored and turn the game back on,” she told him, while simultaneously dragging his T-shirt up his back. He had too many clothes on.

“Really? Bored?” He drew her nipple into his mouth and sucked hard, sending a jolt through her that almost made her cry out. “Woman, you’ve been a pain in my ass since the day you got here. I’ve earned a little extra boob time.”

I loved that boob time. This is probably one of my favorite books of the summer. You won’t want to miss it.
