Series: Delicious bk 2
Author: Lauren Dane
Genre: Erotic Contemporary
Juliet Lamprey is having the time of her life running her successful bakery, TART, when Gideon Carter comes back into her life. Returning home to help his grandfather run the family on the farm, Gideon is back for good. When they meet again, the spark between them is immediate, and it isn’t long before the former childhood friends play catch up in bed.
That’s not good news for local lawyer Cal Whaley. Though the sexually open but strictly monogamous Cal has loved Jules for a long time, he’s hardly ever taken it further than friendship. When he sees her start to fall for Gideon, he knows he has to make his move or risk losing her forever.
Who would have anticipated that all three of them would connect on such an intimate level? The trio’s scalding liaisons take them places they’ve never dreamed. But such an intensely passionate and unusual relationship comes with equally as complicated emotions, and when Jules must suddenly leave town, she wonders if she’ll have a choice to make when she returns
I have been salivating for months for this book, I’m not gonna lie. Every time Lauren posted a snippet I got more and more anxious for it. When it finally arrived on my doorstep I was afraid that I’d built it up so much in my head that it wasn’t going to live up to my expectations.
It did and then some.
One of the things I love about Lauren’s characters is that none of them are perfect. Every single one of them is flawed in some way, and it’s these flaws that make them the kind of characters we can all love and want more of.
Jules, Gideon and Cal on their own are great characters, but when you add them all together they make an amazing cast of characters. They balance each other in a way that only couples who have been together a long time have. Each bringing their own strengths and weakness to the table.
Gideon and Jules are a great couple together. Cal and Jules are a great couple together. Cal and Gideon have OMG amazing semxy times. But when you add in Gideon, Jules and Cal you have a relationship that allows for each person to receive everything they need.
There was two things in this book however that I absolutely loved, the first is the reaction of both Cal and Gideon’s families. They simply said I love you and if this what makes you happy then we are happy. The second is when Jules does drastic and doesn’t tell Cal and Gideon about it, they don’t rake her over the coals, they simply support her, and help her work through what happened.
I do have to admit I loved getting to see the Brown family in this book. Jules makes a wedding cake for Adrian and Gillian that I am determined to find because it sounds DIVINE!! Oh and we also get the set up for Mary’s book Lush which comes out in April, and all I can say is I CAN’T WAIT!!
Over all this book was exactly what I have come to expect from Lauren, great characters, a story line that is plausible and real, hot smexy times and book that will keep you reading late into the night and then wanting to do an immediate re-read of the entire series.
