Top Paranormal Reads of 2012

Today we are sharing our top Paranormal reads of 2012. Just like with the contemporary books some of these came out in 2012 and some are older.

Heather’s Top 5 ~ If I thought choosing my favorite contemporary books was hard, choosing my top paranormal books of 2012 was a nightmare. I read so many great paranormal books I honestly didn’t know how to choose. For this category it boiled down to those books that made it onto my keeper shelf.  Those books I have to have both in print and on my kindle.

1. Captivated by Lauren Dane ~This books has two…well three reasons for being number one Julian, Vincenze and Hannah. I could go on and on about these three, but alas I can’t. I will say this I have read this book at least 5 times since it came out.

2. Chaos Burning by Lauren Dane ~ Simon and Lark were two of my favorite characters this year, so much so that I read them over and over again.

3. Fire Kissed by Erin Kellison ~This book made the top five for one reason and one reason only Jack. Shallow I know, but holy hell what an amazing hero.

4. Lord’s Fall by Thea Harrison ~ “All the loud voices can go out side” This line alone made this book one of my favorite books. There was so much goodness in this book, that if you are fan of Dragon Bound you won’t want to miss this one.

5. Rogue Rider by Larissa Ione ~ This was one of those books that could have gone so bad, and managed to go oh so right. In fact it went to right Respeth became my favorite of the Lord’s.

I do have to add some honorable mentions, these are books that made it to my top 10 of the year, however as this is our top 5 I couldn’t add them there.

Archangel’s Storm by Nalini Singh, Lethal Rider by Larissa Ione, Beneath the Skin by Lauren Dane, and Silver Mine by Vivian Arend. And just because I have to and I read this book no less than five times this year, Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh.

Hard to do favorites but these are keepers that I’ll read again:

Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews – I particularly liked that it also had a novella included which meshed with the novel from a different POV.

Crimson Frost by Jennifer Estep – The series keeps moving well. This one came out this week. Note that it is Kensington so coupons work.

Fury’s Kiss by Karen Chance – Non-stop action

A Lady Can Never Be Too Curious by Mary Wine – Love steampunk

Dragon Justice by Laura Anne Gilman – I like the series development

This reminds me I need to get back on track with the BDB series. I have two more books before I can read Lover Reborn. It’s going to be emotional.
