When Love Happens by Darcy Burke

when love happensTitle: When Love Happens
Series: Ribbon Ridge bk 3
Author: Darcy Burke
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Tori Archer is married…well, on paper anyway. She hasn’t actually seen her husband since the disastrous morning after their impulsive Vegas wedding. The memories of their intense passion may still make her weak in the knees, but Tori knows their marriage was a mistake.

After six months filming abroad, television producer Sean Hennessy wants nothing more than to track down his sexy, captivating wife and get her into bed… fast. So when his boss sends him to Oregon to persuade the famous Archer sextuplets—the former stars of a reality TV show—to do a reunion special, Sean sees the perfect chance to win Tori back.

Only, Tori wants nothing to do with him and is determined to push him away. But their attraction is as hot as ever and Sean will do anything to prove their relationship was more than just a fling…because he knows that when real love happens, it changes everything.

Thoughts: This is my first book by Burke and while I had some issues with the story overall I liked it.

On the surface the concept of this book is really good and had me wanting to read it.

I loved Sean and Tori’s big family.

Tori however drove me insane for the entire book. Like bat s%$t crazy. Don’t get me wrong I get grief, especially the kind that Tori is going through, and maybe that is why I had a hard time connecting with her. The way that she treated Sean made her so unlikable I wanted him to just cut his losses.

Sean on the other hand is great. All he wants is the woman he fell in love with back. There were times when I wanted him to just walk away from her…and when he finally did I cheered. And when Tori went after him it was probably one of my favorite scenes between them.

While I had some major issues with Tori and her treatment of Sean there was enough interaction with all the Archer family members to keep me reading. It also made me want to go back and read the first two books in the series and read the upcoming books as well.
