Why Romance?
Someone asked me that the other day. What is it is about romance books that makes them so popular? I had to think about it for a moment and then it came to me, why do I love romance books. It is the happily ever after. It’s finding that one person that truly gets you and accepts you for all your faults. We don’t care if the book is set in Medieval Scotland, Regency England, The American West, The Present time, or the future. We love the story of how two people fall in love and start their future together.
And of course how they get there. The difficulties to overcome, which are different for each couple, and perhaps the courtship. I love it when the guy has to put some effort into it.
That is exactly always my answer as well. There are other factors about which book I read. But as for the what, it is always romance. Because it makes me smile, sometimes a little tear, but it is always a happy ending.
