A Little Harmless Obsession
Harmless bk 3

Amazon blurb

What begins as a quest for submission becomes an unrelenting need for love.

May Aiona’s crush on sexy Evan Chambers is a bad habit that should be easy to break. It’s not like he’s ever noticed her. Looking for a safe place to release the reins of control and explore her curiosity about BDSM, May takes a friend up on an invitation to visit an exclusive bondage club—all she has to agree to is a public submission.

Evan can’t help but notice the exotically beautiful May. But despite his success, the dirty secrets of his past whisper that he’ll never be good enough for her. When Evan sees her standing in his club ready to submit to his best friend, he gives in to the thing he wants most—May as his sub. After their session, he knows one night will never be enough. But loving May isn’t easy for a man always ready to take charge. She might like to submit in the bedroom, but she doesn’t like anyone telling her what to do outside of it.

When May insists she’s not in any danger from the person seemingly obsessed with her, she ends up in the sights of a deranged stalker—with Evan possibly too far away to help.

Warning: This book contains sexy Hawaiian settings, crazy relatives, and a submission scene that leaves the heroine breathless and the hero frustrated. There are toys, bondage, and love scenes so hot, you’ll need ice water and a towel. Remember, it’s a Harmless story, so you know there’s nothing harmless about it.

Let me preface this by saying that I LOVE Melissa, she is one of the funnest people I have ever met. We had the privelege of meeting her at RomCon last year and had a great time getting to know her.

Ever since I read the second book in this series last year for the RomCon reading challenge A Little Harmless Pleasure I have wanted Evan’s story. There was just something about him that intrigued me, especially as he went out of his to avoid being more than just a friend to May. He is sexy as hell, and knows how to be a great friend.

I loved everything about Evan. Yes he has some major issues, but then again who wouldn’t considering his childhood. He has been in lust with May for years, yes lust, but he is a Dom and in his mind May has no business being anywhere near the DOM/s lifesytle. When someone begins to stalk May, all of his protective instincts come out, and he wants to wrap her up in bubble wrap and keep her safe. Then he walks into Rough & Ready the Dom club that he is a silent owner in, he is furious to see May there. And when he finds out why, he is backed into a corner, and makes sure that he is the only person to touch her. What he doesn’t realize is that it is that moment will change him forever.

May is one of those really great characters. When you write this kind of story you walk a fine line of having a woman that is either to submissive or so controlling that it comes of forced. That is so not the case here. May has to be in complete control of so many aspects of her life, and is beginning to figure out what is wrong with her in the bedroom. She has also been in love with him for years.

With the help of their friends Chris, Cynthia, and Micah, May begins her journey to discovering what she needs in the bedroom, and Evan is forced to make a decision that will change his life for the better. There is the perfect amount of give in May, not make her a push over. In fact one of my favorite parts is when May tells Evan that yes needs to be a submissive in the bedroom, but not in the rest of her life, and he can just deal with it.

The BDSM scenes have just enough kink to be hot, and not be uncomfortable if you don’t like this type of story.

Grade B+

Aloha! I can’t believe that I missed Melissa at RomCon! I must have been too busy drooling over my favorite historical authors.

But I do have great respect for Melissa (and she knows why!)

Yeah to “sexy Hawaiian settings” and “crazy relatives”!
