Author: Molly McAdams

Genre: New Adult

The irresistible, blazing-hot sequel to New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams’s Forgiving Lies.

Rachel is supposed to be planning her wedding to Kash, the love of her life. After the crazy year they’ve had, she’s ready to settle down and live a completely normal life. Well, as normal as it can be. But there’s something else waiting—something threatening to tear them apart.

Kash is ready for it all with Rach. Especially if all includes having a football team of babies with his future wife. With his line of work, he knows how short life can be, and doesn’t want to waste another minute of theirs. But now his past as an undercover narcotics agent has come back to haunt him … and it’s the girl he loves who’s caught in the middle.

Trent Cruz’s orders are clear: take the girl. But there’s something about this girl that has him changing the rules and playing a dangerous game to keep her safe. When his time as Rachel’s protector runs out, he will turn his back on the only life he’s known, and risk everything, if it means getting her out alive.

Thoughts: If you are like me when you read the end of Forgiving Lies you wanted to throw the book at the wall and scream. Then hunt McAdams down and make her tell you what had happened to Rachel and why her and Kash couldn’t be happy.

So the moment I got my hands on this book I forgot everything else I needed to do and read it.

And it broke my heart.

I mean really really broke my heart.

Kash and Rachel have had a rough road to where they are now. Rachel has been terrorized. Kash has lied. And yet they both recognize that they have something special and that it’s worth fighting for. They’ve settled into life in Florida. Kash is back to work on the police force and Rachel is busy planning their wedding. When something horrible happens. Rachel is kidnapped from their home.

The next month is hard on them both for different reasons. And we get to see how far Kash will go to find Rachel, and how Rachel copes with captivity. I will tell you there comes a point in the book I felt like my heart had just been ripped out of me and I cried. Yes I cried, because of what was happening. I wasn’t sure how everything was going to resolve to a HEA but it did, eventually.

I love books that fully engage the sense and emotions and this most definitely one of those books. There were times I laughed, times I cried, and times I raged at what was happening. But the end, when Kash and Rachel got their HEA it was so worth it.

This is one series I highly recommend you read back to back. It’s also one I know was with me long after I’d closed the book.
