Thoughts: I only recently discovered Jacob Chance, and I was stunned by how much I enjoy his books. Previous books I’ve read were MMA themed, so this one was a bit different for me and focused more on romantic suspense with a touch of ‘forbidden love’ thrown into the mix. Chance gave us just enough in the beginning for us to feel the draw of these characters towards each other, but left a lot for when they meet up again years later. The author has such a way with characters and bringing them to life for the reader, and that is by far my biggest draw to his books. In this case, once the characters got together though the story was kind of done for me – I liked the romance part more than anything else. The suspense angle felt a little unrealistic to me, agents acting outside their authority and taking on rogue agent roles – and not just one or two, but all of them!
However, its Jacob Chance which says it all for me, and I would still grab ANY of his books in a heartbeat!
