Blurb: When life gives you curves, you gotta learn how to rock them.

Successful businesswoman Avery Barrows likes her dips and curves, but she’s sick of the haters telling her that she should be ashamed of her body instead of embracing it. Determined to send them a big f*** you, Avery resolves to cut loose during a girls’ trip, hightailing her quick-mouthed, plus-sized self to New Orleans. So, what’s a smart woman with a little extra gotta do to get laid in this town?

Not much if you ask Declan McGinn, the lead singer of BlackSmith. Tall, dark, and tattooed, with a body made for sin, Declan prefers his women as curvy as his guitars. Avery’s sharp tongue and keen mind makes him want her even more.

As they burn up the sheets, Avery and Declan realize this is no one-night (or even one-week) stand. But for all of her bluster, Avery isn’t sure she can handle any more rejection. Besides, Declan has demons of his own. Now Avery has a choice to make: play it safe, or place her trust in the hands of a man who’s as tempting as the devil himself.

Favorite quote(s)/excerpt(s): “What’s the one place I should visit while I’m here?”

Declan reached back and swiped his scalp as we finished dessert, then shook his head as if he were debating his answer.

“Oh, now I’ve got to know.  What?  You’re not going to say a titty bar, are you?”

His shoulders rolled on a laugh.  “See, dammit.  I’ve been a perfect gentleman all night.  Then you go and say something like that.  I’m not quite sure how to take you, Avery Barrows.  You’re all polite and civilized, reserved even.  Then something slips out of your mouth that sounds more at home coming from a trucker.  It’s cute as hell.  But now I’m not sure how to answer your question.”

I tilted my head.  “Why is that?”

“Because I have two answers.  One is appropriate for the lovely , somewhat reserved woman I just had dinner with.”

“Let’s hear it.”

“That would be that you have to take in some music on Frenchman Street.  Be it jazz or blues or whatever strikes you as your walking by, get away from the touristy shit and see NOLA how the locals do.”

“Okay, simple enough.  What’s the other answer?”

“That answer is for the sharp-tongued chick who tried to pick her teeth with my nuts in the lobby of a busy hotel, and just said the words ‘titty bar’ loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear.”

“Give it to me, baby.”

Declan’s eyes dropped away from mine as he twirled the stem of his wine glass between his fingers.  “My bed.”

Thoughts: I was the only Adele in a room full of Pam Andersons and Angelina Jolies.

Avery is a distinct character with plenty of sass – you never know what is going to pop out of her mouth at any given time.  Guys try to put her down for turning them down or try to make her feel bad about herself?  She’ll use that sass to cut them down and have their balls for breakfast.  She’s a no-holds-barred kind of girl, and you quickly love and respect her for her brashness.  While her sexy curves catches Declan’s eye, it’s that uniqueness that really captures his attention.  Full of sassiness and sarcasm, her wittiness grabs his attention and holds it.  And who can blame him?  I’ve never had so much fun reading dialogue between characters!

Not only that, but the author manages to capture her character completely and maintain it, even with Avery’s internal dialogue and though processes.

I knew this one was going to be interesting from the first line of ‘I had a porn habit’ – I mean, talk about capturing a reader’s attention…LOL  You can’t help but be captivated by these characters!

Trust me, this book will stick out in your mind long after you read it!
