Yours To Take by Joely Sue Burkhart

Title: Yours To Take

Series: The Connaghers (book 3)

Author: Joely Sue Burkhart

Genre: Contemporary Erotica, BDSM, Menage

Synopsis: The day one of her old clients gunned down a cop, former defense attorney Vicki Connagher lost everything—her passion for justice, and her lover, Detective Elias Reyes. The dead cop’s partner.

Even though she’s following her dream to start her own fashion line, it’s tough with heartache as her only companion. Until she brings Jesse, a wandering street artist, in from a freak Texas snowstorm. His submissive flirting brings out dominant tendencies she never knew she possessed, yet she hesitates to let him take her as far and as hard as she wants to go.

Some homeless junkie in Vicki’s house? Not on Elias’s watch. Pride kept him away, but as long as Jesse is staying in Vicki’s downstairs shop, he’s staying with Vicki. On the couch, but it’s a start.

As the days go by, the three work out an uneasy alliance. But Vicki’s joy at having Elias back in her life is tempered with a growing desire to have it all. Elias in her bed, and Jesse under her command. The only question remaining is if her tough alpha cop is willing to embrace all that she is…

Explicit sex, BDSM, a tough alpha cop, a reluctant Domme, and a smoldering submissive street artist willing to do anything to belong to her.

Review: Wow. Every review I read before reading  Yours To Take myself was right! Joely Sue Burkhart skillfully weaves together the lives of these three very different individuals in a passionate, erotic, genuine way that has you rooting for Jesse, Vicki and Elias to find their own ‘fairytale together.’

The struggle of someone who finds themselves living on the streets is skillfully told without being preachy, helping you to understand Jesse without taking into detail about his daily struggles before moving in with Vicki.

I love how Elias had to find a way to open up to Vicki, especially after thinking a ‘little’ guy like Jesse couldn’t possibly pose a threat.

And Vicki…the woman who never knew she had some of those Connagher traits in her after all. At times vulnerable, at times needing to dominate, she finds an outlet for this and more in her unexpected relationship with two very different men. Oh, and did I mention the sex is ‘hawt’? It is.

Well done Joely Sue Burkhart and I look forward to reading more books by you. This being my first was a great introduction.

Excerpt: “Bracing herself mentally, she raised her gaze to his face as she walked toward him. (Jessie’s) eyes, so bright, so hot and intense, were made darker and richer by the silk in her hands. Her chest constricted with an answering surge of attraction, deeper and more compelling every time she looked at him. If he’d stop looking at her like that, begging her with his eyes to devour him whole, then maybe she could pretend nothing had changed.

He was just a good guy who’d fallen on hard times. She was just a good Samaritan. He didn’t have to get in the middle of her romantic mess.

Her cheeks burned at the thought. The image of him and Elias both touching her seared her mind, burning her to ash. She’d never once thought about such a thing, but now………………..

Her breath seized up in her throat. She’d dated Elias off and on for months and he’d never told her his feelings. He’d never show such vulnerability. He couldn’t let down his guard long enough.

“I know your heart. No one else has even considered helping me in five years. That’s proof of what kind of woman you are, and I want to belong to you. I’m yours to take, Vicki, if you want me.”…………..

He whispered his fantasies into her ear. “I like sex rough, hard, sweaty, up against a wall, frantic, wherever you’ll take me. I love you in control, taking what you want, demanding I give it up, everything, for you.”

“I can’t take advantage of you like this. It’s wrong. You trusted me—”

He couldn’t help but laugh and shift his hips forward, pressing his erection into her stomach. “How could something that feels this good be wrong?”

She slid her right hand down his back and wrapped her fingers around the waistband of his pants, hauling him tighter against her. “I’m going to hell for this.”

“Then you might as well enjoy me fully.”

Laughing raggedly, she buried her face against his neck. “Hold me, Jesse. Just hold me. It’s been so long.”

Wrapping his arms around her as tightly as she held him, he didn’t ask any questions. The last thing he wanted was for her to feel like he was pushing her to choose him over her cop. But if that son of a bitch had been neglecting her, then Jesse would be more than happy to fulfill her every need.

“I’m going to go upstairs and make some calls, so feel free to help yourself to the laundry, take a nap, whatever you’d like. First thing tomorrow, I want you to see a doctor. Then we’ll go shopping so your baggy pants don’t make me think about how easily they’d fall down, and we’ll go by VCONN and you can meet my brother. Right now, I need…to think. About all this.”…………………….

“You aren’t laughing at me, are you? I kissed him. No, I slammed him up against the wall like you did last night, only instead of splitting his lip open, I damned near bit it off.”

Elias laughed harder. “Did he thank you for it?”

“Yeah, yeah he did. In fact, he begged me to do it again. Why aren’t you pissed?”

“Oh, Vik, I don’t know. It’s not like I have any right to be pissed at you for kissing another man when I haven’t been around in months. Besides, you’re too upset for me to be mad, and he’s not a bad kid. No, he’s a real good-looking kid, a nice tender morsel.” He laughed harder, like one of his buddies had told him the most hilarious joke he’d ever heard. “Making love to you has always been like wrestling a hungry crocodile. Did you shock the hell out of him?”

Stricken, she could barely breathe through the tightness in her chest. “I’m that bad?”

“Aw hell, no, Vicki, you’re that good.” His voice was as tender as she’d ever heard him. “You’re the hottest, sexiest, most passionate woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. But you’re not a soft, passive woman in bed, far from it. Half the fun is wrestling you for dominance, and the other half is making sure you enjoy the consolation prize as much as I am. Any smarter man would never have left you simmering all these months. It’s as much my fault as yours that you’re so attracted to Jesse.”

“So you’ll come over tonight? Please?”

He let out a wicked, low laugh that made her blood smolder. “Oh, I don’t know, Vik. Your couch isn’t that comfortable. Besides, you’ve got that hot cabana boy to tend to you now. Why do you need me?”

“I won’t make you sleep on the couch tonight. I swear.”

“We’re going to be loud, babe,” he purred, drawing a rough groan from her. “I’m going to make you scream. We’re going to hit every surface of your bedroom, hell, your whole apartment, and your boy’s going to hear every whimper, thud, curse and shout of release. Are you sure you’re up for that?”

Her nipples were so hard the lace of her bra felt like sandpaper. “Can you come home now?”

Now it was his turn to groan. “I wish I could, but I’ve got a meeting with the lieutenant in five minutes. I expect we’ll go out on a tip this afternoon, so don’t hold dinner for me.”

“Elias, please, you have to come tonight.”

“I will,” he promised. “It might be late, but as soon as we’re done with the bust, I’ll drive straight to you.” He hesitated, an edge coming to his voice. “You know he’s probably loaded with STDs or worse. God only knows what he’s been exposed to in prison, let alone the streets.”

“I know,” she whispered, lying back on her bed. “I’m taking him to the clinic tomorrow. I already made an appointment.”

“You’re serious, then. Jesus, Vik.”

“I know.” She closed her eyes and rubbed her temple with her free hand. “What does this mean for us?”

“Hell if I know. I’d say I should simply take the hint and get the hell out of Dodge, but you’re begging me to come over tonight.”

“I’ve missed you.” Her voice broke but she refused to bitch and moan about the past. Elias had chosen to bail on her. He’d played both judge and jury and blamed her for everything that had gone wrong, but she couldn’t stop loving him. Even when he’s an uncompromising ass. “I don’t want to lose you all over again.”

“But you want him too.”

Her relationship with Elias had always had a lot of failings, but one thing she’d never done was lie to him. “Yeah, I do.”

Cutter Cay bk 1

Cherry Adair

I love the men and women of Cherry Adair, so when I saw that she had a new book I could hardly wait to get my hands on it. Here is a link to the amazing page about this book.

She Takes the Plunge: Teal Williams is content with her career as a ship’s master mechanic—until Zane Cutter, the “Casanova of the Caribbean,” makes her an offer she can’t refuse: climb on board with him for a real-life treasure hunt.  Teal simply has to help him dredge up a shipwrecked vessel containing an abundance of gold, silver and emeralds—and she’ll claim part of the prize.

He’s Blown Off Course: Zane needs a mechanic who can also dive—not a lover—and Teal is perfect for the job.  So it suits him just fine that Teal is completely immune to his charms…or so he tells himself.  But with a deadly enemy in their midst—an enemy who’s silently edging closer—Zane and Teal sink into treacherous  troubled waters.  They have no one to turn to but each other as they face down a danger that runs unfathomably deep—and a passion that runs even deeper…

There was so much about this book that I liked, that narrowing it down to that one thing is really hard. Both Teal and Zane are very likable characters that are more than they seem, especially to each other.

Zane created an image of himself that isn’t who he really is when he was a teenager, and he likes the image because it allows him to do what he wants to do most of all and that is to hunt for treasure. Well and enjoy women, although he hasn’t enjoyed nearly as many women as people think, which is fine by fine. What he doesn’t count on is Teal. he has know her most of her life and finds her to be one contrary female, he is absolutely positive that he isn’t attracted to her at all.

Teal is one of the best female characters that I have read in a while. She knows what she is, just not who she is. She feels like she has never loved for who she is, and can’t figure out why her father would recommend her for this job, and yet want nothing to do with her. On top of all that she has to deal with Zane, the man that she has been in love with for most of her life, and has caused her more heartache that she thinks he is worth.

I loved watching these two interact. The snarky banter between them was great, and when they finally get around to acting on the sexual tension that is so thick between them it was finally, now lets see how you both deal with it. On top of all this is a mystery and then a dangerous threat to what Zane has been working on for years.

All in all a great story. As soon as I finished it I immediatly wanted more of this series, and to know what was going on with the other brothers, and a call that Zane gets from one of his brothers while in the middle of his own crisis.

This was a perfect start to this new series, as well as bringing back a favorite T-Flac character of mine. If you are a fan of the T-Flac series and all it’s off shoots than you will immediately love this book. I know that I did.

Bride Quartet bk 4

Nora Roberts

Nora Roberts is the queen of romance. Over a career that has spanned almost thirty years she continues to give us great stories, with characters that we want to have as our best friends, or even siblings. In the last installment of her Bride series she doesn’t let us down at all.

In Vision in White we have Mac and Carter’s story, in Bed of Roses it is Emma and Jack, in Savor the Moment we get Laurel and Del’s story and in this book we finally get to see what is going on between Mal and Parker. The sparks have been flying between the two of them since the Cinco de Mayo party in book 2.

As the public face of Vows wedding planning company, Parker Brown has an uncanny knack for fulfilling every bride’s vision. She just can’t see where her own life is headed. Mechanic Malcomb Kavanaugh loves figuring out how things work, and Parker is no exception. Both know that moving from minor flirtation to major hook-up is a serious step. Parker’s business risks have always paid off, but now she’ll have to take the chance of a lifetime with her heart…

I loved everything about Parker and Mal. They are two very different people from very different backgrounds and yet at the core they want the very same thing, a family,  a family that is the core of who and what they are.

Parker with her spreadsheets and manners, Mal with his greased jeans and Harley, on the surface they aren’t a couple that you would expect to be together, that is until you see them together, and they make perfect sense, because they just fit.

Two of my favorite scenes were when she goes to dinner at his mother’s, and when he screws up and how he apologizes to her. He doesn’t buy her flowers of jewelry he gets her something that he knows she loves. Something that she doesn’t expect in the least.

One of the things that I loved about this series is all the wedding parts. It has made me remember my wedding, and wondering what I would do different if I had these four in charge of it, and also how much in love I was with Mike when we got married.

If you haven’t read this series yet, than you will love everything about these four friends, and the men that they fall in love with, if you have read the other books in this series and have been anxiously awaiting this book like I have than you won’t be disappointed.

I so love the covers of all these books as well.

Holiday Affair – giveaway

Holiday Affair

by Lisa Plumley

Single mom Karina Barrett is thrilled to treat her kids to a fairytale Christmas vacation… but will a sexy innkeeper make her own holiday dreams come true?

For Karina, it’s the chance of a lifetime: a free cocoa and gingerbread-filled holiday at a quaint Michigan B&B called The Christmas House.  In return, Karina will play spy and report back to the company hoping to buy out the popular hotel.  It’s all too good to be true…especially when Karina meets innkeeper Reid Sullivan. The man is a walking talking Christmas miracle—and she’s hoping to meet him under the mistletoe…

Single dad turned globe-trotting adventurer, Reid isn’t quite sure how he and his daughters got roped into helping out this year at his family’s B&B.  But once he arrives, it doesn’t take long for a certain guest to catch his eye.  Fun-loving California girl Karina is hard to miss, and Reid senses the attraction is mutual.  As Christmas approaches and the weather grows colder, things between Reid and Karina heat up.  But when the true reason behind Karina’s visit is revealed, will the holiday magic disappear before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve?

This was a cute holiday romance, if you are like me and will sit and watch all the new holiday shows on Lifetime each Christmas than you will like this book.  It reads just like one of those movies and in fact I think I have seen one that was very similar.

Karina’s sister asks her to spend Christmas at a B&B and do an evaluation for her company who is trying to determine if they want to buy it or not.  Her thought is why not, being recently divorced and not knowing how to make the holiday good for her kids, this is the perfect opportunity as the B&B is Christmas themed.

Reid is a single dad who travels everywhere with his two girls, if there is adventure he will be there, until he is summoned home by his grandparents wanting a huge favor – run the B&B for the holidays while the evaluation is going on and it is bought.  Reid is concerned and apprehensive from the get go until Karina and her family arrive, a little incentive to stay for a couple weeks.

And like any good romance chaos begins and love begins to bloom.

I decided to share some of the holiday magic by giving away our ARC of this book all you got to do is comment.

Are you a sucker for a good romantic holiday story?

Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake

Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake

Ralston Siblings bk 1

Sarah MacLean

One of the best parts of reading is finding new authors and going on new adventures, and seeing someone else’s take on a certain period in time.

When I started this book I wasn’t sure what to expect of this author but I have to say that I am really glad that I won a copy of this book.

This is Sarah MacLean’s first adult regency book and her second book published. Having read regency era romances ever since I started reading romance’s I can safely say that there is a new amazing author on the scene. She has created rich characters with very real emotions and adventures that completely engage the reader making you wish that you were a part of the story.

A lady does not smoke cheroot.

She does not ride astride.

She does not fence or attend duels.

She does not fire a pistol, and she never gambles at a gentlemen’s club.

Lady Calpurnia Hartwell has always followed the rules, rules that have left her unmarried—and more than a little unsatisfied. And so she’s vowed to break the rules and live the life of pleasure she’s been missing. But to dance every dance, to steal a midnight kiss—to do those things, Callie will need a willing partner. Someone who knows everything about rule-breaking. Someone like Gabriel St. John, the Marquess of Ralston—charming and devastatingly handsome, his wicked reputation matched only by his sinful smile.

If she’s not careful, she’ll break the most important rule of all—the one that says that pleasure-seekers should never fall hopelessly, desperately in love . . .

Callie is officially on the shelf at 28. Her younger sister however has managed to snag a Duke at the age of 18. The night of the party to celebrate the engagement she over hears her sister and her fiancée talking about her and how passive she is. She then has a conversation with her brother the Earl and discovers that he thinks the same thing and challenges her to be more adventurous, she takes the cowards way out and says no. At least for a little while.

Ralston is perfectly content with his life, he does what he wants and could care less about what anyone else thinks about it, of course it helps that he is a Marquis. The only person he cares about is his twin brother Nick. That is until he discovers that he has a younger sister, and that she has arrived in England. Needing someone to help him introduce his sister to the ton, he is at a complete loss, that is until Callie shows up needing his help.

Thus begins the adventure. Watching these two fall in love with each other and become the people that they have always meant to be was very entertaining. This is one of those books that keeps you engaged from the first page to the last page. The characters are engaging and really likable, and leave you wanting more of them. The supporting cast, Callie’s family and Ralston’s family were very entertaining and leave you hoping for their stories to come.

If you are looking for a great regency story than you should definitely pick up this book. This is the first book in a trilogy about the Ralston twins Gabriel, and Nick and their half sister Julianne. Nick’s book comes out in October and Juliana’s book will be out in 2011.

Heat Series bk 2

Brenda Novak

What do you get when you have two hard headed characters with issues of trust regarding each other from when they were teen-agers and huge chips on their shoulders? You get a  lot of sexual tension, snarky comments and a great book.

Brenda hits another one out of the ball park with the second installment of her Heat trilogy,. This was a book that I couldn’t stop reading. I loved every page turning moment, as Rod and Sophie dealt with their past, worked on teh future adn tried to find out who the murderer was.

Rod is one of those hero’s that you love, adn want to step out of the pages of the book and into your living room or your bedroom if you would rather. He had made something of himself, despite his childhood, so when he goes back to the town that had treated like dirt growing up, he of course has to rent the biggest baddest car he can, a Hummer.

Sophie has to prove herself as the chief of police and will not let anyone solve her crime, teh murders, but her. So when Rod comes back to town and on his heels the FBI, who want Rod’s help in solving the murders, to say that she is hot under her collar is an understatement.

To say that the sparks flew in this book would be to say that there are no fireworks on the 4th of July. There are a lot of them here.

This book has definitely lived up to it’s name and is a schorching hot read. If you missed the first book in the  series don’t worry you can read this one without reading that one as it can be read as a stand alone.

Always the Baker Never the Bride by Sandra D Bricker

They say you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

But who would want cake they couldn’t’ eat?

Just ask Emma Rae Travis about that.  She’s a baker of confections who is diabetic and can’t enjoy them.  When Emma meets Jackson Drake, the escapee from Corporate America who is starting a wedding destination hotel to fulfill a dream that belonged to someone else, this twosome and their crazy family ties bring new meaning to the term “family circus.”  The Atlanta social scene will never be the same!

This was a nice light inspirational contemporary romance that hit all the romantic buttons needed to make it a great read without pushing religious content at you.

Emma is diabetic and cannot eat the things she loves to make – I can only imagine how it would be to love baking and even win awards at it without even knowing how things taste – that is talent!

Jackson is the owner of a hotel that he is turning into a wedding retreat this was an impulse buy after his wife passed away, it had always been her dream to do something like this.

The support cast (rest of staff and family) are a riot and make this book so enjoyable -from the controlling southern sisters to Emma’s dysfunctional parents who surprise her in the end, you also have the eccentric chef and Emma’s right hand goth assistant, and the best is Aunt Sophie who is adorable. You fall in love with them all.

Thanks & Recap

Just wanted to give a huge shout of thanks to all the authors who helped us out this week and to everyone who stopped by.  Heather and I are really excited about starting this venture together and I hope you all have fun along the way with us.

We will post the winners on Sunday so plan on checking in to see if you are one of the lucky ones.

Just in case you did not get a chance to see the author responses to our question we asked here they are again.  If you can figure out which author is new to this post you might win a book also.  Just post a comment and we will draw a winner from the correct answers

We asked a few of our favorite authors what their go to books or authors are right now and where do they go to relax and read.  Here are their responses.

Carly Phillips:   http://www.carlyphillips.com/ A few months ago I would have said I’m a true contemporary reader. Only. That’s still the case … without the only! I’ve recently strayed into a genre I never thought would hold any interest for me – paranormal.  It’s been a fantastic break from my normal reading and when I’ve devoured my contemporary authors and am waiting for a new release.  As for which authors, in contemporary – my fellow Plotmonkeys, Leslie Kelly aka Leslie Parrish, Julie Leto, and Janelle Denison … and also Toni Blake, Erin McCarthy’s racecar series, Victoria Dahl, Jill Shalvis, Rachel Gibson.  And now in my new paranormal phase, I’m devouring Nalini Singh, Meaghan Hatfield, Larissa Ione.  As for where? On my Kindle … wherever I can.  In bed usually since reading is a treat for when I can relax but in my car while waiting for the kids works too!

Erin Nicholas:  http://www.erinnicholas.com/ I almost always go for contemporaries first, though I have favorites in historical, erotic, and paranormal too. I have a few go-to authors who always deliver for me but the two that first come to mind are Erin McCarthy and Susan Andersen. I have a big chair by my picture window that I love to curl up in with my Kindle! :)

Susan Mallery: http://www.susanmallery.com I’ve always been a romance fan. Romance novels are my go-to books, though of course I read in other genres from time to time. Romances affirm my view of the world as a good place where men and women find a way to avoid killing each other, despite sometimes overwhelming temptation. I read everywhere, but if we’re talking a truly relaxing read, there’s nothing like curling up on the sofa with a good book.

Anna Campbell:   http://www.annacampbell.info/ A great historical sweeps me away into a world of romance like nothing else so when I’ve got spare time, I tend to read the competition (LOL!). I love to read in bed, especially when it’s raining outside!

Alexandra Hawkins:  http://www.alexandrahawkins.com/ No contest–Romance. I read all sub-genres. Where do I like to read? The sofa in my family room reclines so it’s a comfy place to read.

Sarah MacLean: http://www.macleanspace.com I love historicals, but when I’m just trying to get away from work, I love contemporaries. Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Rachel Gibson, Kristan Higgins, and when I run out of them, I’m always down for the One Click packs for Kindle from Harlequin! As for the where, anywhere my dog is curled up is always a first choice.

Stephanie Laurens: http://www.stephanielaurens.com/         I read a lot of different genre fiction. Always genre, but it could be crime/mystery, fantasy or romance. I read in bed, pretty much every single night. I have a silk-covered, silk-fiber filled comforter, European pillows to prop myself up with, and my cats always come to sit with me–one on my stomach, the other between my calves. As far as they’re concerned, that’s how it has to be

Nalini Singh:   http://www.nalinisingh.com/ I have quite eclectic reading tastes and depending on my reading mood, will read anything from thrillers to sf/fantasy, to any number of sub-genres of romance (of course!) and more. I read some non-fiction as well, partly for research purposes and partly just because the topic interests me. Some of my favorite authors are Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey. Anne Bishop, Christine Feehan, Meljean Brook, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz, JD Robb, Julie Garwood, Jude Deveraux, Lisa Kleypas…and seriously, I could keep going. I love reading, and I’m always trying out new authors alongside my favorites. My most recent “finds” have been Joss Ware (love the Envy Chronicles!) and Jess Granger with her futuristic romances. As for where I read – everywhere I can!

Jessa Slade:     http://jessaslade.wordpress.com/ As a writer, I consider it my sacred duty to read. I have a breakfast book, a backpack book, a bedside book, and a bathtub book. And usually a few more besides :)  I read a lot in my genre — urban fantasy romance — but like most booksluts, I’ll peel back the cover on anything. At RomCon this year (where I met the Book Reading Gals!) I had the chance to sit with Nalini Singh, C.L. Wilson and Christine Feehan. It was like my bookshelf sprang to life!

Erin Kellison:  http://www.erinkellison.com/ Chances to relax are seldom with little kids and a book on deadline, so I have to steal time to get my reading fix. I generally choose fantasy, but really enjoy a lot of genre fiction. I had surgery last week and got to read Mockingjay in one sitting. Love that feeling of sinking into a book. My favorite place to go? The beach. Combine that with a book and a lazy afternoon and I am in heaven.

Leslie Parish:     http://www.authorleslieparrish.com/ Whenever I want to read purely for enjoyment, I tend to stay away from romance because I’m so immersed in it in my job, I just want something different for down-time.So I typically pick up a horror or thriller novel (Stephen King is my favorite) or something so funny it leaves me breathless (Christopher Moore is my go-to author for this!) I most recently read The Passage by Justin Cronin, a futuristic vampire/zombie armageddon story and really loved it.

Contemporaries

First off let me welcome you to our new site we hope you enjoy it and will find lots of good information along the way.

So Heather and I have been discussing what we enjoy about contemporary books.

I personally love the books where I relate to the characters and it does not hurt to have some humor in them. But catch me in the right frame of mind and I love those FBI/Crime type books.  Some of my go to authors are: Carly Phillips, Susan Mallery, Erin Nicholas, Catherine Coulter (love the FBI series) and Kristin Higgins.

Heather likes to relate to either the character or story of the book and loves when she feels that she is with a long lost friend.  Of course she loves Nora (who doesn’t) and I am supposed to tell Kim that she is ready to have all her Nora books back.  She also enjoys Julia James, Carly Phillips, Christina Dodd, Sandra Hill, Julie Garwood.

I am sure we can both go on and on because there are so many to choose from but we will leave that up for your discussion.

One Commenter today will win – wait for it – books of course

We also asked a few of our favorite authors what their go to books or authors are right now and where do they go to relax and read.  Their responses will be posted over the next few days

Just Right

Just Right

by Erin Nicholas

To be a good bad boy you have to find just the right girl…

ER nurse Jessica Bradford is a good girl. Okay, more like a reformed bad girl, determined to be the woman her late father wanted her to be. And she’s sworn off bad boys. Definitely. Instead she wants someone like Dr. Ben Torres: responsible, dedicated, selfless. The tall, dark and handsome part is just a bonus.

What a difference twenty-four hours can make. Yesterday Ben was incredibly handsome, too sexy for words and definitely one of the good guys. Now he’s just incredibly handsome and too sexy for Jessica’s own good. Yet she still wants him like ice cream wants hot fudge.

Ben’s done being everybody’s hero. What’s being a trauma surgeon ever gotten him but late hours, patients who don’t remember his name and a whole lot of frustration? He can’t even seduce Jessica, and her bright red thong, because of work rules. So he quits. Or to be more exact, gets suspended.

Jessica can’t believe Ben is acting more like a kid in a candy store than a man who’s about to throw his career away. When she’s manipulated into babysitting him, she does her best to keep him out of trouble—except “trouble” is all Ben’s interested in. And suddenly Jessica’s having trouble remembering why that’s a bad thing…

Warning: Contains hot love in a store dressing room and in the front seat of a car—at the expense of a very nice strawberry patch, unfortunately—oh, and hooker boots. Can’t forget the hooker boots.

I had the privilege of meeting Erin at RomCon and she was so nice and fun to spend time with, she immediately sent us a copy of her book Just Right and I finally had the opportunity to read it. I fell in love with it! A good story about the struggle with the expectations with oneself and with others and learning to love someone no matter what, even it you think they can do something better.

You will not be disappointed with Ben & Jessica’s story and you will want to run out and get the next book about Sam “Just Like That”. Good beginnings to a wonderful new series.
