Blurb: “Why haven’t we had sex?”

When Jesse Gunn one of the biggest stars of World Class Wrestling voiced that million dollar question, yet again, I was stunned. After countless times of turning him down, I thought eventually he’d give up.

Unexpectedly thrown together for a work project, my mind went to places I’d never allowed. Dirty places where sweaty, naked bodies take center ring and names are rasped out in the heat of the moment.

Now, my time is spent wondering if a certain part of him could possibly live up to his last name, distracting me from my full time job – as his boss.

Can I continue to keep things professional or will I give in and tussle?

Favorite quote(s)/excerpt(s): “I belly dance.”

What?

It takes me a moment to form a coherent reply.  My mind was too busy picturing her hips captivatingly rolling and swaying.  I clear my throat before I speak.  “Where do you do this?”  Wherever it is, I want to be there.

“I take classes with my friend, Carly.  We’ve been going for two years now.  We’re pretty good if I do say so myself.”  She smiles.

“I bet you are.  When do I get to see a demonstration?  Until I see your skills, I’m not sure I can believe you.”

“When you say demonstration, you mean a private showing, right?”  She quirks her eyebrow.

“Hey, I’ll take what I can get, but I’d never turn down a private anything from you.”

“I’m gonna be in a show in a couple of months.  I’ll let you know when and if you want to check it out you can.”

“Oh, I’ll be there.  Can I reserve a front row seat now?”

Thoughts: I was very pleasantly surprised by this book.  I had not previously read anything by this author, and I’m not typically a fan of first person or dual points of view but this is just one of those books where it really just worked.  I am a fan of MMA/wrestling themed romances though, and with the blurb and this cover I couldn’t resist picking it up.  And I just LOVED these characters – particularly Jesse Gunn – and the chemistry between them – not to mention I can never resist when one of the characters is crushing so hard on the other and have a persistence in getting the other to come around to their way of thinking and finally give them a chance.  This book was just darn near perfect.  Personally, I did find myself waiting for a wrestling ‘storyline’ between Jessee and Lilah that sort of put them in close quarters romantically and forced them towards each other, but it never happened.  But, again, it just still worked!

I can say with great assurance, however  – I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future!
